FAWFULIZATION

All we know about fawfulization!

What is Fawfulization?

Fawfulization is a broad term for the conversion of something, whether it is a person, place, or object, into something that works under Fawful in some way. A fawfulized thing does not necessarily have to look like him, though that is a common factor amongst the fawfulized. A fawfulized thing can be an otherwise typical-looking object that Fawful has only functionally tampered with to obey him (Sea Pipe Statue), a creature / object that has been biologically altered, sometimes with artificial additions, who then works for Fawful (Fawflants, Crawfuls, Fawfloppers), a building that has been modified to help Fawful (Super Peach's Castle of Fury), people who willingly choose to work under him and dress to resemble him (Fawful Guys), or a creation conjured by Fawful's inventions (Snawfuls). Even objects like clouds are capable of being fawfulized.

Really, the only uses of the term "Fawfulization" occur for the Sea Pipe Statue and Super Peach's Castle of Fury, and the term only appears in English and French Canadian versions of Bowser's Inside Story. So we really don't know how much the developers intended this to be a thing at all!

SEA PIPE STATUE

Though it may not look like it, this is the very first Fawfulized character encountered in the Mario & Luigi series. Fawful himself calls it that. In this statue's case, Fawfulization has made it grow richer in color (the statue was originally beige) and move about, flailing its arm-like pipes and attacking Bowser by Fawful's command. The PRIMA guide describes it this way: "Fawful has performed some sort of trickery on the statue and brought it to life with one sole purpose: to fight Bowser."

CHAIN CHAWFUL

This is the first Fawfulized minion encountered that specifically looks like Fawful, found at the road to Bowser's Castle. It appears to be a Fawfulized Sworm who has parasitized a Chain Chomp. According to the PRIMA guide, the minion burrowed into the Chain Chomp to use it as a ride. They make sounds that resemble Fawful's voice when openly telegraphing their attacks, though the Chain Chomp still is capable of barking. Mirroring Fawful's second battle in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Chain Chomp can be overheated, forcing the Sworm to poke its head out from it.

FAWFUL GUY

Fawfulized Shy Guys, also found on the road to Bowser's Castle. Interestingly, their Bowser Jr.'s Journey profile calls them Shy Guys that have defected to Fawful's side. This means that Fawfulization is not always done by tampering with brains or machinery, and can instead involve simply dressing as Fawful. Similarly to Glide Guys, they have a parasol on their heads, though they can also extend and retract the parasol into their heads freely. One of their attacks consists of being eaten by an off-screen species of Yoshi (heavily implied to be Yoob), then launched into their foe. According to the PRIMA guide, this Yoshi is a companion who is much larger than them offering its assistance. Fawful Guys dance and skip around, which reflects how Fawful acts during performances. The parasol ejecting from their heads may be a slight reference to how Fawful's antenna extends from his head in his Most Furious Fawful Fight. There is a palette inconsistency between main story Fawful Guys and Bowser Jr. sidemode Fawful Guys in the Bowser's Inside Story remake (main story has black shoes, sidemode has blue shoes).

FAWFLANT

Large, shapeshifting ants that do not resemble any existing species in the Mushroom Kingdom. They are capable of speech, though curiously do not speak like Fawful does. Their drill abdomens are poisonous. According to their Bowser Jr.'s Journey profile, they are "bug monster[s] that resemble Fawful." They may cooperate with other Fawflants in attacks, and will frequently appear in pairs.

FAWFLOPPER

Large grasshoppers that also do not resemble any existing species in the Mushroom Kingdom. They have yellow springs on their back legs, allowing them to jump high. They are even capable of jumping while already midair. If they successfully land an attack, they will laugh afterwards.

MAWFUL MOLE

Fawfulized Monty Moles that appear to be wearing caps with his visage. Unlike most Fawfulized characters, Mawful Moles do not have large grins or green skin (though this may be covered by fur). In the original Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story they have yellow fur in contrast to regular Monty Moles' brown fur. This may be in reference to the Beanbean Kingdom's Monty Moles in the original Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, which also had yellow fur. Curiously, some Mawful Moles inhabit the Tower of Yikk, and help repair the tower if it is damaged.

CRAWFUL

Giant crocodiles that stomp around Blubble Lake. They attack with slapstick humor, throwing bananas and rocks out in front of them to purposefully slip or trip into their foes. If they land a hit and another Crawful is with them, the Crawful laughs. They may also feed eachother beans if one is hurt. Their teeth are removeable, though they do not appear to notice when their teeth are removed and will try to eat beans regardless.

FAWFUL BOMB

Fawfulized Bob-ombs that can be found in various sizes. They are only shown in the Tower of Yikk & Fawful Express giant battles. They lack mouths, unlike most fawfulized creations. Their behavior is unknown.

FAWFUL CLOUD

Fawfulized clouds. They are capable of moving their mouths, and have some amount of will. They can choose to rain on plants to heal them, or storm on foes.

MAGIFOOFA

Fawfulized Magikoopas that inhabit the basement of Fawful Theater. They move their wands like a conductor waves a baton during a performance. They are known to be capable of creating giant rocks with their magic, as well as beans when their wand fizzles (which implies it was a failed spell).

METAL MAWFUL MOLE

A sturdier form of Mawful Mole that appears to be wearing a metallic cap. Their German name instead refers to them as Dark Mawful Moles, meaning they may be both influenced by the Dark Star and metal upgrades.

DARK FAWFUL GUY

Stronger forms of Fawful Guys which have removeable propellers on their heads. They work in groups of four to hold up Dark Fawful Bombs.

DARK FAWFUL BOMB

Large Fawful Bombs that more closely resemble the Dark Star than Fawful in any way. They create a powerful explosion of dark energy once detonated, though with a very small radius.

SUPER PEACH'S CASTLE OF FURY

The product of Peach's Castle being fawfulized. It is capable of making portals that resemble black holes, forming massive barriers, and sending fleets of Mechawfuls after foes. The interior of the castle has a great amount of green and yellow pipes (similar coloration to Fawflants and Fawfloppers), though these pipes are red in the remake to better fit the castle's new aesthetic.

SNAWFUL

Fawfulized snowmen created by Blizzard Midbus's crown. They are the only fawfulized creation that is seen being created (and yet it answers nothing!). They work in groups of four, simultaneously throwing snowballs by spitting them out of their mouths. They show some extent of intelligence, retreating into their bucket hats when Bowser uses any multi-target attack.

UNNAMED INFECTION

An unexplained fawfulization of a portion of Bowser's insides, exclusively in the Dark Star Core battle in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey. It is unclear how it becomes infected (the area appears infected even before the Dark Fawful Bug becomes the Dark Star Core).
