BIOS

BIS 3DS Hint: Defeating Mechawful: Even if you knock Mechawful's head off, it can still revive itself if enough time passes. Use Vacuum to suck up the head before that can happen! Try not to defend too soon when Mechawful drops and attacks from the air. Wait until the last moment before crouching!

Bowser Jr.'s Journey: N/A

Prima Guide: "The Mechawfuls are Fawful's line of robots with a single mission: protect Fawful inside Peach's Castle. After all, the little villain has made it this far. Why not make sure to have an army of lugs pledged to defend him till their little circuit gets fried? Speaking of frying, Bowser can make short work of these bots while he's at Peach's Castle, as long as he's fast with that fist.
The Mechawfuls have two attacks. One occurs when the robot lands directly in front of the hero. When the Mechawful is attacked once, it goes into three phases, noted by the color of the dot on their chests. Use these colors to decide how to best deal a second strike. Blue: Attack the Mechawful when it is blue and it will halt its attack and return to its side. Yellow: Attack the Mechawful when it is yellow, and it will return an attack. Red: Attack the Mechawful when it is red, and it will self-destruct, inflicting damage on the hero.
When fighting Bowser, the Mechawfuls sometimes try to drop down directly on the Koopa King. Use shell defense. However, do not deploy it until moments before the Mechawful crashes into Bowser. The Mechawful keeps driving down, so Bowser must remain in shell defense as long as he can. After a few seconds, Bowser reflexively pops back up. Hopefully, the Mechafwul has abandoned its attack by then.
The Mechawful's second attack occuurs when the robot dive-bombs straight down onto the hero's head. The Mechawful tries to dive-bomb Mario and Luigi, too. A single hammer attack is enough to drive it away. If there are two enemies present when they hammer the Mechawful away, it wil inflict damage on the other enemy as well." (Pages 166 + 167)

"When the Mechawful is just about to self-destruct, it will often jettison its head. While the head is severed from the Mechawful body, it must be dealt with right away or else it will soon spawn another Mechawful body and join it. When Bowser is fighting the Mechawful, he can inhale the head into his gut for the Bros. to fight. When the Bros. are exploring the garden, they must directly handle the Mechawful Head as well as any other enemy in the field.
Given a free turn, the Mechawful spawns a new body and the battle pretty much starts all over again.
The Mechawful head flies high above the Bros. and then drops straight down onto them. Repel it with a hammer strike. Use Special Attacks to destroy the Mechawful head right away before it can call in a new body." (Page 167)
